Privacy
Policy

This policy explains how Dobos Dining Co., LLC ("Dobos Dining Co.," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit our website, contact us, request a quote, book or receive private-chef, meal-preparation, catering, cooking-class, or related services, or otherwise interact with us.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways: information you provide, information collected automatically when you use our website, and information received from service providers or other parties involved in fulfilling your request.

Information you provide

  • Contact and identity information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing address, service address, and the name of an event host or guest.

  • Booking and event information, such as requested dates, location, guest count, menu preferences, budget, occasion, venue details, and communications about your event or service.

  • Dietary and health-related information you choose to provide, such as food allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions, accessibility needs, or other information needed to prepare and serve food safely.

  • Payment and transaction information for methods that may include Venmo, Plaid-enabled payments, ACH transfers, and wire transfers. Depending on the method you choose, we or the applicable payment or financial-service provider may process billing details, bank-account or routing information, payment instructions, transaction status, amount, and a limited payment identifier. We do not intend to store full payment-card numbers or online-banking credentials ourselves.

  • Client account information, if account features are offered, such as your account profile, preferences, login status, and authentication identifiers. You may be able to sign in using Google, Facebook, or an email-and-password login. Third-party sign-in providers process your login credentials under their own privacy policies; we generally receive only the profile and authentication information needed to create or access your account.

  • Content you submit, such as reviews, photographs, survey responses, testimonials, or messages. We will obtain permission before using customer-provided photographs or testimonials in public marketing unless you have already posted them publicly and authorized reuse.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we and our website, hosting, security, or analytics providers may collect device and usage information, including IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, dates and times of visits, and cookie or similar technology identifiers.

Information from other sources

We may receive information from a person booking on your behalf, event venues, referral partners, social-media platforms when you interact with our pages, and vendors that help us operate the business. If you provide information about another person, please make sure you are authorized to do so.

2. How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Respond to inquiries, prepare proposals and gourmet menus, process menu orders, schedule private-chef or gourmet catering experiences, and manage bookings and contracts.

  • Create and manage client accounts, authenticate sign-ins, maintain account preferences, and provide customer support.

  • Plan, prepare, deliver, and safely provide food and dining services, including accommodating disclosed allergies and dietary needs.

  • Process payments, deposits, refunds, invoices, and accounting records.

  • Communicate about a booking, service updates, safety matters, or changes to this policy.

  • Send promotional communications where permitted by law; you may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

  • Operate, secure, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve our website and services.

  • Prevent fraud, enforce agreements, protect people and property, and comply with legal, tax, insurance, and recordkeeping obligations.

3. Dietary, Allergy, and Other Sensitive Information

Dietary restrictions, allergies, intolerances, and similar information may reveal health-related information. We ask that you provide only what is reasonably necessary for us to plan and perform the requested service. We use this information to communicate with you, develop menus, avoid disclosed ingredients where agreed, coordinate with staff or service providers who need the information, and document service requirements.

By voluntarily providing this information for a booking or inquiry, you request and consent to its use for those purposes. We do not sell this information or use it for targeted advertising. You may withdraw consent by contacting us, but doing so may prevent us from safely providing some services. Food-allergy accommodations are subject to the terms of the applicable proposal or service agreement; this policy does not replace those food-safety disclosures.

4. How We Share Information

We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to:

  • Service providers that support website hosting, communications, scheduling, bookkeeping, cloud storage, analytics, marketing, or other business operations. These providers may use information only as permitted by their agreements and applicable law.

  • Payment and financial-service providers used to facilitate transactions, which may include Venmo, Plaid, banks, and providers supporting ACH or wire transfers. Depending on the payment method you choose, those providers may collect or receive account, routing, identity, or transaction information under their own privacy policies and terms.

  • Authentication providers used for client login, which may include Google and Facebook, as well as providers supporting email-and-password authentication. These providers process sign-in information under their own privacy policies and terms.

  • Chefs, assistants, event staff, venues, rental companies, delivery providers, or other vendors involved in providing the service you requested.

  • Professional advisers, insurers, auditors, accountants, or attorneys where reasonably necessary.

  • Government authorities or other parties when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

  • A buyer, successor, or other party in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to appropriate protections.

We do not sell personal information for money. We also do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising. If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide any legally required choices.

5. Cookies and Analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the site, remember preferences, understand traffic, prevent abuse, and measure performance. Depending on the website configuration, analytics or embedded content providers may also set cookies.

You can usually manage cookies through your browser settings and, if available on our site, through a cookie-preferences tool. Blocking some cookies may affect website features. We will honor legally required browser-based opt-out preference signals when applicable to our processing.

6. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing services, maintaining business and tax records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal, insurance, and safety requirements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and the reason it was collected. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending highly sensitive information through ordinary email or website forms unless we specifically request it through an appropriate method.

8. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link in the message or contacting us. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we maintain about you. Where applicable law provides additional rights, you may request a portable copy of your information or opt out of certain sales, targeted advertising, or profiling. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

To submit a request, email scottdobos@dobosdiningco.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. If we deny a request covered by applicable law, you may appeal by replying to our decision and stating that you wish to appeal. You may also designate an authorized agent where permitted by law.

9. Children’s Privacy

Dobos Dining Co. may serve children as guests and offer children’s menu options, but our website accounts, bookings, contracts, and paid services are available only to persons 18 years of age or older. A parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult must make the booking and provide any information needed for a minor guest, including menu preferences, allergies, dietary restrictions, or accessibility needs. We use that information only as reasonably necessary to plan and safely provide the requested service, communicate with the responsible adult, and meet legal or safety obligations. We do not knowingly permit minors to create accounts, enter into service agreements, or submit personal information directly through our website. If you believe a minor has done so, please contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete the information.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

Our website or communications may link to third-party websites, social-media platforms, payment pages, maps, or other services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this policy. We encourage you to review those policies before providing information.

11. Accessibility Statement

Dobos Dining Co. is committed to an inclusive experience and to making the information and services on dobosdiningco.com reasonably accessible to people with disabilities. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we work to identify and address barriers as our website and technology change.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, need information in another format, or need help completing an inquiry or booking, email scottdobos@dobosdiningco.com with the subject line "Accessibility Request." Please identify the page or feature and the assistance needed. We will make reasonable efforts to provide an accessible alternative and address the issue. We also welcome reports about accessibility barriers involving third-party features linked to our website.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required by law. Your continued use of our website or services after an update is subject to the revised policy, to the extent permitted by law.
